Kim Loan is a social entrepreneur, human centered design enthusiast, and technology strategist. Prior to Columbia, she most recently came from Population Services International working on various marketing, research and design projects in global health across Asia and Africa. Previously stationed in the San Francisco Bay Area, she has also spent 3.5 years in management consulting across technology, products and nonprofit sectors.
Kim Loan co-founded Tâm Journey (formerly Tịnh Tâm), a digital social enterprise dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of Vietnamese youth (first place winner of 2020 SIPA Dean’s Challenge). She’s currently pursuing an MBA/MIA dual degree through CBS and SIPA with a concentration on Economic and Political Development and is the TA for Sarah Holloway’s “Creating a Social Enterprise” course.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, playing her guitar/singing, discovering city gems, backpacking around the world, and hosting community gatherings.
