A veteran in the word of venture capital, Jerry Neumann has been investing in internet startups for more than 15 years. He presently runs Neu Venture Capital, a firm he founded in 2008 that invests in early-stage internet companies.
After graduating business school, Neumann worked at Deloitte and Touche Consultant group before joining one of the first consumer internet providers, Prodigy Communications. He left to run Communicade, the venture capital division at Omnicom Group. In 2001, Omnicom sold Communicade to Seneca Investments. Neumann went on to cofound Roots Market in 2005, a marketplace that allowed consumers to sell their personal data.
In 2012, Business Insider named Neumann one of New York City’s top earlystage investors. Neumann sits on the board of Magnetic, PlaceIQ, Simple, and Yieldbot in addition to advising BigML, Ginzametrics, PubGears and Sociocast.
He received his BS in 1988 and his MS in 1990 in Electrical Engineering from Columbia SEAS before receiving his MBA in 1993 from NYU.
