CarbonSul

CarbonSul creates lower cost, environmentally friendly chemicals using recycled byproducts from the oil and gas industry.  Its patented, platform biotechnology consumes sulfur and removes up to 1 million tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. 

Founded by a multidisciplinary team of Columbia University scientists and a Columbia MBA – Tim Kernan, PhD, CEO , Professors Alan West and Scott Banta, and Bill Irvine, CFA – CarbonSul is working to develop an environmentally sustainable bioprocess that uses engineered bacteria to transform carbon dioxide and waste from the oil and gas industry into useful products for the chemical and manufacturing industries.
