Shermin Luo ’16CU and Lynn Li met during their image consulting program at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). At the end of the two-year program, a conversation over fashion and image consulting market in China turned into a start-up idea. Later they brought two software developers and a couple fashion interns aboard, and the rest is just history.
The pair built a machine learning model for providing outfit suggestions, and have implemented that model as a service that can be used as a component in scalable application stack. The two have further built a first-iteration web interface that is capable of taking pertinent user information and then using this service in order to provide outfit suggestions. In order to reach a releasable version of the platform, Shermin and Lynn still need to compile a greater body of data on which to train thir model.
