SmartNext is a learning initiative aiming to educate international students on personal finance.
Founded by Wuhao Pan ’20CBS, SmartNext developed 8 learning modules on personal finance topics, including FICO, credit cards, personal budgeting, investment, car loans, housings, health care, and taxes. These topics are explored in a series of videos and supplemented by forums to create a community.
With the current state of scattered, decentralized information online, and a lack of personal or professional networks, international students struggle with adjusting to the US and Canada system and financial literacy as a whole. By creating an easy-to-use system with credible, unbiased information, SmartNext helps bridge the gap in knowledge that international students struggle with.
