Columbia has been the launch pad for well over one hundred companies based on technology emerging from its many research labs. Columbia typically takes an equity position in these spinoff companies which span across such disciplines as cleantech, robotics, computer sciences, software, bioinformatics, biotech and medical devices.

Columbia Entrepreneurs
Separate and apart from the Columbia Portfolio are the many companies that have been founded by entrepreneurial alumni and/or Columbia students.
