SUMMARY:APPLICATION DEADLINE\, 8 AM: Design Your Venture
DESCRIPTION:APPLY HERE \nAre you an entrepreneurial Columbia student?\nIs there a specific challenge or a problem you are passionate about solving?\nDo you want to be part of an incredible cohort of change-makers? \nDo you want to develop practical approaches that will lead to sustainable solutions? \nThe Design Your Venture program will work with a limited number of highly motivated teams to tackle an issue they’re passionate about using design to solve. Over the course of the semester\, teams will dive into each phase of the design process together and receive one-on-one coaching from the Design Team.\nThroughout the program you will: \n* Interview and research real users and stakeholders in the community you are designing for.\n* Design an innovative solution for your challenge.\n* Have a coherent market\, value proposition\, and workable prototype by the end of the program. \nThis program is a deep dive into creating a venture based on user-feedback and testing so it will be particularly useful for students applying for any of the entrepreneurship fund challenges in their respective schools. You will be joining an impressive community: a number of teams who have been through this program have gone on to receive investment\, win the Columbia Venture Competition\, and earned seats in the Columbia Startup Lab. \nAPPLY HERE \nImportant Dates & Times: \nApplications Open: August 29th\, 8am \nApplications Close: October 1st\, 8am \nAccepted Applicant Teams Notified: October 5th by 5pm\n\nDesign You Venture Launch and Happy Hour: October 11\, 4:10pm-5:50pm \nDesign Your Venture will start on Thursday\, October 11th\, from 4:10 pm to 5:50pm followed by five consecutive weekly sessions on Thursday afternoons\, ending on November 15th\, the week before Thanksgiving Spring Break.  If you are applying as a team you only need to fill out one application.
