SUMMARY:Application Deadline: BiomedX Applications
DESCRIPTION:accepting applications for the 2026 – 2027 cycle of the Columbia Biomedical Engineering Technology Accelerator (BiomedX)! Eligible Columbia faculty-led research teams have the potential to receive up to $100K in project award funding. Please share this with your faculty who may be interested. \nPre-proposals can be submitted via an application form at Biomedx 2026-2027 Application Google Form. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday\, November 11 at 5 PM EST.  \nBiomedX provides funding\, education\, industry connections\, and mentorship to Columbia faculty-led projects* with teams of clinicians\, engineers\, and scientists developing solutions for unmet clinical needs\, with the ultimate goal of bringing innovative research out of the lab to benefit society. \n*Graduate students and post doctorate trainees can act as project leads with permission from principal investigators (PIs). \n\nAreas of interest include: \n\nAll technologies that may have a direct impact on human health will be considered (e.g.\, medical devices\, diagnostics\, software\, platform technologies\, etc.); therapeutics are not eligible for funding through this Program. However\, the most relevant are those where translation to market can be achieved in a short time frame (e.g.\, 3-5 years). Projects that propose to undertake discovery research will not be considered. Successful proposals must be translational in nature with potential applications that have commercial potential and societal benefit. \n\nFor additional program details and expectations\, please review the attached BiomedX Request-for-Proposals and join us for a Virtual Info Session on October 28\,4pm via zoom. \n\nPlease do not hesitate to reach out directly to program manager Megan Heenan at mh4451@columbia.edu with any general questions regarding program structure\, format\, or expectations.
