SUMMARY:Examining Gender Bias and Venture Financing (Livestream Event)
DESCRIPTION:OPEN TO ALL – ONLINE ONLY \nDana Kanze ’19BUS\, holds a TEDx talk about her PhD research on the gender gap in startup funding. Webcast will be made available here. \nFrom Forbes: \n\nAccording to Kanze\, only around 2% of VC funding goes to women entrepreneurs\, despite the facts that women own 38% of U.S. businesses and now represent 7% of VCs\, up from 3% in 2014. \nWhen it comes to raising capital through public competition\, Kanze’s team found that women at TechCrunch Disrupt New York were faced with more negatively framed questions from both male and female VCs than male presenters were.
