Danny Taing ’14SEAS spent four years working in Japan, where he developed his passion for food and travel by exploring every region of the country and trying local delicacies. When Danny returned to the States, he brought back a few boxes of his favorite Japanese snacks, which were an instant hit amongst his friends. Now whenever he travels to Japan, he looks for something new to bring back for his friends.
Bokksu officially launched in April 2016 and soon after sold out of all subscription boxes for May. The business has been steadily expanding its user base since then through social media outreach (3000+ likes on Facebook) and partnerships with Japanese organizations.
