With the goal of closing the gap between electronic music fans and professional DJs, Seth Goldstein ’92CC founded DJZ in 2012. Now DJZ is striving to build an online community of music lovers and provide a web experience that captures the same intensity and energy of an electronic music festival. In the eyes of DJZ, anyone can be a DJ.
Going beyond simply music sharing, DJZ provides original articles, curated videos, a variety of mixes, and DJ Profiles for its users creating an interactive experience. Since launching DJZ, the company has created their own free iPhone app, called DJZtxt, as well as their own media channels on twitter, soundcloud, Instagram and youtube. The company’s investors include Index Ventures, true ventures and Google Ventures, just to name a few.
Founder Seth Goldstein is a member of Columbia University’s class of ’92 and holds a BA in dramatic literature. In addition to serving as the CEO of DJZ, Seth is also the Chairman of turntable.fm. When he is not busy revolutionizing the music industry, he likes to spend time at his home in Marin, CA with his wife and two sons.
