Jolyne Caruso-FitzGerald ’81 Barnard, Divisional Vice Chairman at UBS

Jolyne is a Divisional Vice Chairman at UBS in the firm’s Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) division within the Global Wealth Management business. Jolyne joined UBS in July 2019.

Jolyne’s area of focus is the UHNW business with a specific mandate to support the strategic growth objectives in the Americas UHNW segment. With a long track record of working with some of the world’s wealthiest families across multiple generations, she significantly bolsters the division’s efforts to deepen and develop new and existing UHNW client relationships.

Jolyne’s career has spanned global cap­i­tal mar­kets and asset man­age­ment businesses at major Wall Street firms. Prior to joining UBS, she was Founder and CEO of The Alber­leen Group, a boutique investment firm that works exclusively with family office investors to source and structure private debt and equity direct investments.

She previously worked as Global Head of Absolute Return Strate­gies at Lehman Broth­ers and served on the firm’s Management Committee. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Ms. Caruso was ​Co-founder and Pres­i­dent of Andor Cap­i­tal Man­age­ment, a $7.0 billion equity hedge fund. From 1992 to 2001, she was Managing Direc­tor and Head of Equities Americas at JP Mor­gan Chase and was Chair­man of JP Mor­gan Secu­ri­ties. She began her career in institutional equities at Bear Stearns.

Ms. Caruso holds a B.A. with Hon­ors from Barnard Col­lege, Colum­bia Uni­ver­sity, and is Chair Emerita of Barnard’s Board of Trustees. She currently serves on the boards of Align Impact, LLC, the Institute of International Education- IIE,  and is on the advisory council at Columbia Entre­pre­neur­ship as well as an advisor to Golden Seeds Fund 1.

Jolyne is married to Shawn FitzGerald and together they have two children, Christian and Gabrielle FitzGerald.
