Thursday, November 29, 2018, the new Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Andrei Iancu will be visiting Columbia University. From 12:10 – 1:30 pm, Director Iancu will be hosting a discussion on intellectual property, the importance of patents throughout U.S. history to corporate and startup innovation, and the recent and upcoming changes to the U.S. patent system. Co-hosted by Columbia Law School, Columbia Business School, Columbia Technology Ventures, the Columbia School of Engineering and Applied Science, and Columbia School of Public and International Affairs, this event is open to students, faculty, and the public.
