Sara Sakowitz ’18CC, is the Founder of Blue Moon Box, a science education subscription box for kids. Sara has been named to the Crains NY Business’ 20 Under 20, the NYC Economic Development Corporation’s 10 Under 20, and Her Campus’ 22 Under 22; recently, she won First Prize in Columbia University’s 2016 Business Venture Competition. Sara is the President of the Columbia Organization of Rising Entrepreneurs, one of the university’s largest student societies, where she leads a team of 4,000+ general body members, runs an accelerator program that has raised a collective $4 million amongst three classes of startups, and co-plans the annual campus-wide Startup Columbia entrepreneurship festival. Sara has a strong background in science research: she was an Intel Science Talent Search National Finalist, the First Prize Winner of the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, and the National Winner of the Google and Ellen Degeneres Made with Code Prize.
