Joule Jiao ʼ14CBS has spent five years at leading investment institutions, including Fir Tree Partners, Bridgewater Associates, and Stanford Management. Once Jiao realized the “anathema,” or dislikeable aspects of investments, he set out to create his own equity hedge fund, complete with the ironic name of “Anathema,” to contrast with the ease the firm would provide.
Anathema Capital LLC is a global long/short equity hedge fund, focused on short-selling, special situations, and thematic investments. The fund invests in publicly-traded companies across a range of industries and market capitalizations, specializing in temporary price dislocations that cannot be justified by fundamentals.
