Stephanie McLean’s ’11GSAPP idea for Trendy Treat came when she was working on another project altogether. While focused on helping entrepreneurs find what they need to launch startups, she was struck by the absence of a cohesive set of resources for creative professionals. She soon switched her focus.
Trendy Treat is a designer discovery portal connecting emerging designers with trend seekers, as well as providing them with the tools they need to grow their businesses. Trendy Treat offers a fashion subscription program, allowing members to select several unique pieces from an emerging designer every month.
In addition to representing the work of emerging designers, Trendy Treat has a private label, MIM, which makes bespoke work wear – suiting, shirts and dresses – at an affordable price point. Trendy Treat’s magazine keeps users abreast of the latest trends and gives them the stories behind the brands and helps designers manage and grow their businesses.
Stephanie has always been interested in entrepreneurship and the business models driving innovations to market. In fact, she launched her first venture at 12 years old. Upon receiving her Masters degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture and Planning, her passion for pursing entrepreneurship was a clear path for the future.
