Open Listings

After collectively buying three homes themselves, Alex Farrill (CC’03), Judd Schoenholtz (CC’04), and Peter Sugihara (SEAS’13) founded Open Listings to improve the home buying experience. Open Listings is a new kind of real estate company. They use technology to empower home buyers to shop on their own and an expert support team to guide buyers through the purchase process online. This approach enables Open Listings to provide their clients with a 50% commission refund when they buy—the largest in the real estate industry.

Backed by Y Combinator, Open Listings launched officially in March of 2015 with an initial focus on California homebuyers. Their first hires were more Columbia alumni—Jonathan Schley (GS’12), Austin Glover (CC’14), and Elliot Hursh (SEAS’13).
