Robert Reffkin ‘00CC, ‘03BUS founded Urban Compass with his long-time friend Ori Allon in October 2012. The company combines Robert’s business experience and Ori’s technology background to help people find a great place to live and make the most out of it. They have created a unified technology platform that enables customers to manage their entire apartment search in one place. Combining this technology with a team of customer-focused agents, Urban Compass is making it easier to find a new home.
With $28 million in funding and recognition as one of CNN’s 10 Startups to Watch for 2013, they’re off to a good start. Visit urbancompass.com to learn more.
“Finding a home is the most important local decision New Yorkers make each year. We’re helping New Yorkers by making the process easy, transparent, and customer-friendly.”
The inspiration for Urban Compass came from Robert’s dedication to helping New Yorkers. Prior to Urban Compass, Robert leveraged skills developed at McKinsey & Company and Goldman Sachs to found New York Needs You, a nonprofit helping first-generation college students realize their career aspirations, and to serve as founding chair of Bronx Success Academy 1 charter school.
