Michael Satow

Michael Satow is a serial health and wellness entrepreneur who has four nine-figure exits of companies he founded.  In November 2023, serving as co-Founder and CEO, Bonafide Health was acquired by Pharmavite/Otsuka for $425 million in an all-cash transaction.  Bonafide is a digitally native women’s health dietary supplement brand that employs a nationwide field force of experienced medical sales representatives who target and educate more than 7,000 mainstream gynecologists, oncologists, and other healthcare providers.

Michael incubated and built Bonafide while serving as CEO of Nutrition 21, a leading dietary ingredient company.  In November 2021, Nutrition 21 was acquired in a $172 million all-cash transaction by Everwell Health, a platform established by Roundtable Healthcare Partners.  In November 2011, Michael and an investor group purchased Nutrition 21 in a bankruptcy sale, and over the next 10 years, Michael and his team built it into a leading dietary ingredient company serving more than 200 dietary supplements brands.

Earlier, Michael co-founded and served as a Board Member and COO of JDS.

Pharmaceuticals, a psychiatric and women’s health focused specialty pharmaceutical company, which he successfully exited in 2007 for $125 million in a cash sale to Noven Pharmaceuticals. Michael also co-founded and served as CEO of MarketXT, a venture-backed financial technology company, which he successfully exited in 2000 for $100 million.

Michael is the Chairman of the Jed Foundation, the nation’s leading non-profit focused on the mental health and wellness of young people.  He is a member of the Board of Visitors of Columbia University, and is a board member of several private companies.

Michael started his career as a lawyer, working as a commercial litigator in New York City and as a senior enforcement lawyer for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He holds a B.A. from Columbia College and a J.D. from Georgetown Law School.
