Andrew Sohn ’04CC and Michael Novielli ’03CC, ’09TC co-founded Due West Education in 2009 to inspire, mentor and support the next generation of globally-minded scholars and leaders by providing innovative educational products and services. Headquartered in Beijing with clients and staff throughout the world, Due West is the market leader in helping students to apply to and prepare for success at top American junior boarding schools, high schools, colleges, and graduate programs.
Due West believes in the importance of international educational exchange and is an active member of educational organizations such as the International Association for College Admissions Counselors (International ACAC) and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). Due West is also an official sponsor of the China Liberal Arts College Tour and tournaments such as the National High School Debate League of China, China Model United Nations, and the China Youth Business League.
Best friends since college where they studied abroad through Columbia’s Summer Language Program in Beijing, Andrew and Michael have hired Columbia alumni throughout Due West’s senior management and staff. Due West Education also proudly participates annually in the Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) summer internship program, hiring Columbia undergraduates as summer interns. Due West Education is also an official representative of Columbia’s American Language Program (ALP) and co-sponsor of the Columbia University Thanksgiving Break Program, and has hosted delegations and presentations for Columbia College, the School of Social Work, the School of Professional Studies, and Teachers College.
