Jason Cahill heads the AWS Sustainable Cities Accelerator, focused on driving cleantech innovations within Amazon. Jason is coming most recently from the early stage venture capital space. Previously he founded a tech company focused on transportation optimization. Prior to working for startups, Jason served in the public sector for 15 years as an Army Special Forces operator, then later as a consultant. Jason has advised multiple startups in the cleantech, edtech, and deeptech domains on go to market strategy, fundraising, product development and operations. Jason sits on the advisory board of several startups and is actively involved in advancing entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University. He also teaches “Hacking 4 Defense”, a course that takes lean innovation methods and applies them to DoD related problems at Columbia University. He has an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland. Jason and his wife Cristina are proud parents of Theo (8) and Alice (6).
