Neil Potnis is a design technologist pursuing an MS in Computational Design Practices at Columbia University GSAPP. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Arts & Entertainment Tech where he co-founded and led the university’s first academic design journal. Neil has prior experience in design tech roles serving as an Interaction Designer for Nokia’s E2E cybersecurity platforms and developing an interactive biofeedback workout experience available online.
He serves as a Fellow here at CSL Morningside advising with startup design strategy and is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at GSAPP assisting with both CAD and HTML courses. Neil’s capstone project focuses on the learning of eco-friendly knowledge bases through computational play and he intends on using this practice as a means of creating intervention tools for designers and the general public.
